Description
The Venturi carburetor, two-chamber, has a main fuel system, an idle system, a mechanically driven accelerator pump and a vacuum-controlled economizer valve. The air damper is controlled manually, on some models automatic control is used.
The economizer valve is used only with the throttle fully open to supply additional fuel. The accelerator pump enriches the fuel mixture when the throttle valve is opened sharply, ensuring good throttle response of the car. The accelerator pump is a diaphragm type with a mechanical drive. The air damper with a manual drive is additionally controlled by a vacuum created in the carburetor under certain engine operating conditions.
The auxiliary throttle control mechanism acts as an idle speed compensator, which operates under certain operating conditions to prevent the engine from stalling. The fuel shut-off solenoid valve is used to shut off fuel to the engine when the ignition is turned off.
