Fuel level sensor (Escort 5)

Removal

Remove the fuel tank.

Turn the fuel level sensor cover with a special or pipe wrench and remove the sensor from the fuel tank (see Fig. 4A.20).

Installation

Install the fuel level sensor with a new gasket onto the fuel tank.

Attention. Since the gasket is deformed in most cases when removed, it cannot be reused and must be replaced. When installing the sensor, make sure that the locking tab of the cover fits into the groove on the fuel tank. Secure the sensor by turning it to the right.
