Removal


Remove the negative terminal from the battery. Remove the air filter. Use a lever to remove the choke cable from the carburetor. Disconnect the cable housing from the suspension. Disconnect the choke control button from the cable by pressing the fastening pin on the back of the button.

Remove the choke control mechanism retainer. Unscrew the choke control mechanism/fixing screw and disconnect the throttle position indicator lamp switch connector. Pull the cable inside the panel (see Fig. 4A.10).

Installation


Insert the cable through the bulkhead and pass it through the instrument panel. Install the mounting sleeve and connect the electrical connector. Install the sleeve on the instrument panel and secure it with the screw. Install the choke control knob on the cable and check that it is securely fastened.

Connect the choke control cable to the carburetor.

Pull the choke control knob all the way out. On the carburetor, set the choke lever to the full choke position and secure the cable housing to the suspension.

Adjustment


To check that the choke control cable is adjusted correctly, press the control handle all the way down and check that the choke lever is on the stop. Adjust if necessary.

Press the choke control button all the way down. Check that the choke on the carburetor is set to the vertical position.

Install the air filter.

Connect the negative terminal to the battery. Turn on the ignition and check the operation of the choke position indicator lamp by moving the choke control knob in and out.
