Starting a cold engine

When the ignition is turned on, the coolant temperature sensor sends a signal to the EEC-IV device "engine cold".

In this case, the device enriches the fuel mixture for cold start by changing the opening time of the injector, as well as the number of revolutions depending on temperature, by activating the throttle valve motor. These signals are naturally complemented by other signals.

When the engine warms up, individual sensors, in accordance with changes in engine temperature, as well as changes in load and speed conditions, output voltage and frequency signals to the EEC-IV device, as a result of which the device determines the engine's need for fuel by adjusting the injector opening time.

Idling

The throttle motor controls rotation speed in response to temperature under all load conditions.

Normal mode and acceleration

These modes do not require the use of special devices. Depending on the parameters of the throttle valve opening, air temperature, vacuum in the intake manifold, engine temperature, exhaust gas quality and speed, the EEC-IV device regulates the opening duration and thus the fuel dose for the injector, as well as the ignition moment.

Full load

At wide open throttle, the device receives a signal to richen at full load. The dose of fuel is determined in the same way as in other modes of operation when processing the readings of all sensors.

Idle setting

The idle speed is 900±50 rpm.

1. Warm up the engine.

2. Stop the engine and connect the tachometer.

3. Remove intake silencer.

4. Start the engine, while turning off all consumers of electricity.

5. Set idle speed with screw (1) throttle lever. To do this, unscrew the locknut (2) (3 - slider control motor, 4 - throttle position sensor).

6. Check individual air hoses and accelerator cable installation.

Attention! When the battery is disconnected, all parameters stored in the KAM memory block (Keer Alife Memory) EEC-IV devices disappear. These include parameters for modes: idle, partial and full load. Therefore, after connecting the battery, the normal functioning of the engine in various modes is disrupted. For this reason, after connecting the battery, it is necessary to bring the engine to operating temperature. After idling for 3 minutes, increase the speed to 1200 rpm and hold it for 2 minutes. When carrying out such a procedure, the EEC-IV device restores the idle parameters.

7. To restore all the parameters of the EEC-IV device, a test drive is required. Usually, this requires driving 8 km in various driving modes.
