Withdrawal
Remove the gearbox. Remove the clutch. Apply alignment marks to flywheel or drive plate and crankshaft.
Fix the flywheel against turning by the teeth of the ring gear and unscrew the flywheel mounting bolts.
Attention At installation of a flywheel it is necessary to use only new bolts.
Remove the flywheel carefully.
Examination
Clean the flywheel. Check the working surface of the flywheel for cracks, grooves, burns and scratches. Minor damage can be repaired with sandpaper.
Check mating surfaces of flywheel or drive plate and crankshaft.
Installation
Install the flywheel or drive plate on the crankshaft flange so that the holes for the flywheel mounting bolts align with the holes on the crankshaft flange.
Secure the flywheel against turning in the same way as when unscrewing the flywheel. Tighten the flywheel bolts diagonally to the correct torque.
Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
