Examination
Turn on the ignition and listen to the fuel pump (you should be able to hear the sound of the electric motor running from under the rear seat). Each time you turn on the ignition, the pump should turn on for 1-2 seconds. If the pump turns on and works constantly, then the ECU unit may be faulty and the car should be taken to a service station for a complete check of the fuel system.
Check the operation of the fuel pressure regulator, which is determined by the fuel pulsations in the regulator and the supply hose from the fuel filter.
If the pump does not work, check the fuse, relay and wiring. Also check that the fuel pump circuit breaker is on.
Fuel pressure control
It is necessary to use a pressure gauge, which should be connected to the fuel line between the fuel filter and the fuel line.
Disconnect the electrical wires from the ignition coil and fuel injectors.
Turn on the ignition at least twice and check the pressure created by the pump.
If the pressure is not normal, check the fuel system for leaks or replace the fuel pump.
Reconnect the electrical wires to the ignition coil and fuel injectors.
If the pressure created by the pump is normal, then start the engine in idle mode. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the fuel pressure regulator and close it with a plug. After the pressure has stabilized, read the readings from the device and compare them with the data given in the technical specifications.
If the pressure is not normal, remove the plug from the fuel regulator and adjust the pressure to normal.
Turn off the engine and check the fuel pressure after 2 minutes.
Disconnect the fuel pressure gauge from the fuel line.
Start the engine and check the fuel system for leaks.
