Removal
Remove the negative terminal from the battery.
Remove the trim panel under the instrument panel and fold back the floor carpet to access the accelerator pedal.
Disconnect the accelerator cable from the pedal. Remove the air filter housing.
Rotate the throttle control lever to release the tension on the cable, then disconnect the cable from the throttle actuator lever (see Fig. 4C.3, 4C.4).
Separate the cable housing from the suspension and remove the cable.
Installation
Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. After installing the accelerator cable, the assistant should press the pedal all the way down. Check that the throttle valve opens and closes completely. With the throttle valve completely closed, the accelerator cable should sag slightly. If adjustment is required, release the cable sheath fastening bracket on the injector and, moving the cable sheath, make the adjustment, then secure the cable sheath with the bracket.
