Unscrew the 4 instrument cluster mounting screws and remove the instrument cluster from the instrument panel. At the rear of the instrument cluster, disconnect the electrical connectors and the speedometer drive cable. If the instrument cluster is equipped with a tachometer, do not lay the instrument cluster on its front side, as silicone fluid may leak from the tachometer (see Fig. 12.51, 12.52).

Remove the ground cable from the battery. Unscrew the 2 mounting screws and remove the upper steering column cover. Unscrew the 4 mounting screws and remove the lower steering column cover. Remove the steering wheel.

Using a lever, remove the 3 heater control knobs. Unscrew the 2 fastening screws from the upper back side of the instrument cluster decorative trim. Release the instrument cluster trim from the fastening brackets using a screwdriver with a protective pad or cloth. Remove the instrument cluster and disconnect the electrical connectors (see Fig. 12.53, 12.54).

Remove the 4 instrument cluster mounting screws. Pull the instrument cluster toward you and disconnect the electrical connectors and speedometer drive cable.
