Drum brakes. Removal
Remove the brake drum/hub assembly.
Remove the rear brake shoes. Remove the brake cylinder from the shield. Press the 3 mounting tabs and remove the handbrake cable from the shield. Drill out the rivets securing the shield to the rear axle and remove the brake shield.
Installation
Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Use new rivets to install the brake shield. Finally, bleed the brake system.
Disc brakes. Removal
Remove the rear brake disc and rear hub assembly.
Remove the handbrake drive. Drill out the rivets securing the rear brake shield and remove the shield from the rear axle.
Installation
Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Use new rivets to attach the shield to the rear axle.
