Drum brakes. Withdrawal
Remove the brake drum/hub assembly.
Remove the rear brake pads. Remove the brake cylinder from the shield. Squeeze the 3 mounting tabs and remove the handbrake cable from the shield. Drill out the rivets securing the shield to the rear axle and remove the brake shield.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Use new rivets to install the brake shield. Finally, bleed the air from the brake system.
Disc brakes. Withdrawal
Remove the rear brake disc and rear hub assembly.
Remove the hand brake actuator. Drill out the rivets securing the rear brake shield and remove the shield from the rear axle.
Installation
Installation is made in sequence, return to removal. Use new rivets to fasten the shield to the rear axle.
