Removing drive shafts

            0

1. Lock the vehicle with the parking brake.

2. Loosen the front wheel mounting bolts and hub nut.

3. Raise the front of the car, unscrew the bolts and remove the wheel.

4. Unscrew the front wheel caliper without disconnecting the brake hose, and using a soft wire, hang it from the rack.

5. Drain the oil from the gearbox by carefully unscrewing the gear selector shaft retainer.

Attention! Under the shaft lock there is a locking pin and a spring that must be removed.

6. Remove both transverse arms, while first unscrewing the mounting bolt on the bracket, and then the nut on the ball joint, holding the Torx bolt from turning with a wrench.

7. Remove ball joint from steering knuckle.

8. If necessary, remove the tie rod from the steering knuckle arm.

9. Remove both drive shafts from the gearbox and, using soft wire, hang them on the steering rods. To do this, insert a pry bar or a screwdriver between the inner CV joint and the crankcase, and when the assistant pulls the car wheel outward with a strong sharp blow on the end of the mount, disengage the drive shaft in the side gear.

10. Tie the removed end of the shaft with a wire to the steering rack. Instead of the removed drive shafts, insert plastic or wooden plugs to fix the differential side gears. Plug diameter 22 mm.

11. Unscrew the bolt securing the brake disc to the hub and remove the disc.

12. Remove wheel hub. Use a puller if necessary.

13. Remove the drive shaft from the steering knuckle and get it out from under the car.
