1– fan pulley; 2 - front cover; 3 - rotor; 4 - bearing; 5 - stator; 6 - rectifier; 7 - back cover; 8 - brush holder; 9 - electronic voltage regulator


The voltage regulator and alternator brushes can be replaced without removing the alternator from the engine.

1. Remove ground wire from battery.

2. Remove heat shield.

3. Remove the wire connector from the generator.



4. Unscrew the voltage regulator (A) and disconnect 2 wires (indicated by arrows).



5. Loosen the fixing screw (indicated by an arrow) brush holder.

6. Carefully turning the brush holder outward, remove it from the generator.



7. Check the length of the graphite brushes, which must be at least 4 mm (1 - graphite brush, 2 - contact).
