Examination
If the radiator fan does not work when the coolant temperature is high, check the condition of the fuses and the operation of the relay.
Remove the connector from the thermal switch, which is located either on the thermostat housing or in the upper radiator tank hose. Using the appropriate piece of wire, connect the two contacts in the removed connector. Turn on the ignition and check that the radiator fan is working. If the radiator fan is working, then the fan switch thermal sensor is faulty and must be replaced.
If the radiator fan does not work when the temperature sensor connector is shorted with an additional wire, then it is necessary to check the integrity of the radiator fan motor or supply wires.
Removal
Remove the ground cable from the battery.
Disconnect the electrical connector from the fan motor. Disconnect the electrical wiring from the mounting brackets on the fan casing (see Fig. 3.15-3.17).
Unscrew the two nuts securing the fan casing to the radiator (see Fig. 3.18).
Remove the fan together with the casing (see Fig. 3.19).
Unscrew the three nuts securing the fan to the casing and remove it (see Fig. 3.20).
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
