Radiator fan

Examination

If the radiator fan does not run when the coolant temperature is high, check the condition of the fuses and the operation of the relay.

Remove the connector from the thermal switch. which is located either on the thermostat housing or in the hose of the upper radiator tank. Using the appropriate piece of wire, connect the two pins in the removed connector. Turn the ignition on and check that the radiator fan is running. If the radiator fan is running, the fan on temperature sensor is faulty and needs to be replaced.

If the radiator fan does not work when the temperature sensor connector is closed with an additional wire, then it is necessary to check the integrity of the radiator fan motor or the supply wires.

Withdrawal
Remove the ground wire from the battery.

Disconnect the electrical connector from the fan motor. Disconnect the electrical wiring from the mounting brackets on the fan shroud (see fig. 3.15-3.17).

Unscrew the two nuts securing the fan shroud to the radiator (see fig. 3.18).

Remove fan with shroud (see fig. 3.19).

Unscrew the three nuts securing the fan to the shroud and remove it (see fig. 3.20).
