Removal


Remove the negative terminal from the battery. Remove the air filter. Relieve the pressure in the cooling system, then disconnect the coolant supply hoses to the automatic air damper. Close the ends of the hoses with plugs. Remove the accelerator cable from the carburetor.

Remove the connector from the anti-knock valve. If applicable, also remove the connector from the idle speed control motor and throttle position sensor.

Remove the fuel hose from the carburetor. Close it with a plug. Label and disconnect the vacuum hoses from the carburetor.

Unscrew the 4 TORX screws and remove the carburetor from the intake manifold (see Fig. 4A.37). Remove the carburetor gasket.

Installation


Clean the mating surfaces of the carburetor and intake manifold.

Install the carburetor in the reverse order of removal, using a new gasket.

If necessary or if defects are found, replace the fuel and vacuum hoses.

Connect the cooling system hoses to the automatic air choke. Check the coolant level.

Check the idle speed and mixture quality. Adjust if necessary.
