1. Remove the distributor cap and rotor and disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the ignition coil.
2. On an OHV engine, mark the position of the distributor relative to its mounting plate and unscrew the mounting bolt.
3. Turn the distributor clockwise by 120° so that the capacitor is on top, unscrew the screws that secure it, move its contact plate back and remove the capacitor.
4. On the CVH engine, unscrew the condenser mounting screws.
5. On the Bosch distributor, disconnect the capacitor wire from the breaker contacts, disconnect the rubber bushing and remove the capacitor.
6. On the Lucas distributor, remove the contact spring from the holder, disconnect the wire from the spring and remove the capacitor.
