Removing and installing the rear suspension arm and spring (Escort 4)

1. Loosen the wheel bolts, raise and secure the rear of the car on stands and remove the wheel.

2. Place a jack under the transverse arm and lift the arm slightly.

3. If there is an anti-roll bar, unscrew the anti-roll bar from the suspension arm.

3. If there is an anti-roll bar, unscrew the anti-roll bar from the suspension arm.


4. Unscrew the suspension arm from the body (arrows indicate the locations of the suspension arm attachment to the body).

5. Slowly release the jack until the spring is completely released and remove it.

6. Unscrew the lever mount to the hub base and remove the lever.

7. The spring and suspension arm are installed in the reverse order of removal.
