Centering the driven clutch disc

Centering the driven clutch disc

Before installing a new clutch drive disc, remove all protective grease. Thoroughly clean the splined portion of the gearbox input shaft and the internal splines of the driven disc, as well as the release bearing guide sleeve.

1. Lubricate the splined portion of the gearbox input shaft and the release bearing guide sleeve with a thin, even layer of FORD special grease No.5021439.

Attention! The lubricant layer must be thin and uniform, otherwise, when the clutch is operating, excess lubricant will be thrown onto the working surfaces of the clutch and may disrupt the operation of the clutch.

2. Install the drive and driven disks on the flywheel and center them using a drift.

Caution! The flat side of the driven disk marked "Fly wheel side" or "Schwungradseite" must face the flywheel.

3. Sequentially, crosswise, tighten the clutch drive disc mounting bolts and finally tighten to the required torque.

4. Remove the centering mandrel.
