Release bearing
1 – clutch release fork; 2 – clamping bolt; 3 – bearing
The presence of extraneous increased noise when disengaging the clutch (the pedal is pressed) indicates wear or damage to the release bearing.
Removal
1. Remove the gearbox.
2. Disconnect the release bearing from the bottom and top of the clutch release fork and remove it from the gearbox input shaft.
3. Unscrew the mounting bolt and remove the fork.
Installation
1. Lubricate the working surfaces of the clutch release shaft with MoS2 grease.
2. Install the clutch release fork and secure with the bolt.
3. Install the release bearing and secure it in the fork.
4. Install the gearbox.
