Removal
Unscrew the selector lever handle and remove the decorative cover from the center console.
Unscrew the screws securing the center console (2 at the rear and 4 at the front). Remove the center console by sliding it along the handbrake lever. Using a screwdriver as a lever, remove the selector lever guide plate. Remove the rod from the lever by pressing the plastic tab with a screwdriver (see Fig. 7B.2).
Raise the front of the car and secure it on stands. Remove the front wheels. Working under the car, remove the traction from the gearbox.
Remove the rubber plug from the bottom of the vehicle and remove the gear selector rod.
Installation
Insert the gear selector rod through the hole in the bottom of the car and the rubber plug.
Connect the rod to the selector lever. The ring-shaped protrusion should be directed towards the lever pin. Use pliers to firmly secure the rod to the selector lever (see Fig. 7B.3).
Set the selector lever to position "P", raise the front of the car and secure it on stands.
Connect the rod to the gearbox.
Adjustment
Raise the front of the vehicle and support it on stands.
Remove the gear selector rod from the lever on the gearbox. Turn the gear selector shaft on the gearbox until the parking lock is locked. Check by turning the wheels. In this position, the hole in the gearshift shaft lever and the ends of the gear selector rod should match. Otherwise, you need to change the length of the rod. To change the length of the rod, move the rubber boot on the rod and, rotating the fork along the thread in one direction or another, align the holes on the rod and the lever. Install the rod locking clamp on the lever, fix it and install the boot in place.
Lower the car.
