Removal
Remove the negative terminal from the battery. Unscrew the lock nut and remove the speedometer drive cable from the drive pinion or vehicle speed sensor. If a vehicle speed sensor is installed, use 2 wrenches to unscrew. Hold the sensor with one and unscrew the speedometer cable nut with the other.

Disconnect the electrical connector from the vehicle speed sensor. Unscrew the sensor from the top of the gear. Use pliers to remove the cylindrical pin securing the speedometer drive gear. Remove the speedometer drive gear from the gearbox housing.
Using a small screwdriver, remove the O-ring from the groove in the bearing.
Thoroughly clean the speedometer drive gear and bearing, as well as the gear mounting socket in the gearbox
Installation
Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Before installation, lubricate the O-ring with a thin layer of oil. Lock the gear with a cylindrical pin, which must be inserted until it stops. The cylindrical pin should protrude from the gearbox housing by approximately 5 mm.
