Withdrawal

The fuel pump and fuel level sensor are attached to the cap, which is installed on top of the fuel tank. To remove the fuel pump, remove the fuel tank.

Using a special FORD key 23-026. unscrew the cap with the fuel pump and fuel level sensor (see fig. 4B.3).



Remove the cover with the fuel pump and fuel level sensor from the tank upwards and remove the O-ring. The O-ring will be replaced each time the cover is removed.

Installation

Installation is done in sequence. reverse withdrawal. Lubricate the new O-ring before installation and do not damage or deform the O-ring when installing the cover. Install the cover so that the protrusion of the cover fits into the groove of the fuel tank. Rotate the lid until it locks into place (see fig. 4B.5).
