Generator
An alternator from Bosch, Lucas or Motorola is installed depending on the vehicle model. Generator drive from the crankshaft through a V-belt transmission. The current to the excitation winding is transmitted through brushes and slip rings.
Attention! In order to avoid damage to the generator, it is not allowed to operate the generator with the battery disconnected, that is, when the engine is running, the battery must not be disconnected.

The correct tension corresponds to a belt deflection of 10 mm when pressing with your thumb on the longest section of the belt.
The alternator rolling bearings are lubricated with long-life grease and do not require periodic maintenance.
