Removal of the three-stage heater switch in models from 1986

1. Remove ground wire from battery.
2. Remove the upper and lower steering column trim.
3. On vehicles manufactured before December 1985, unscrew 2 screws (indicated by arrows) mounting the switch, remove the connector and remove the switch.
4. On vehicles manufactured since 1986, remove the steering wheel, unscrew the 2 screws (indicated by arrows) fastening the switch, remove the connectors and remove the switch.
5. Removing the switch from the instrument panel is carried out by pressing with a thin screwdriver.
