Removal of the three-stage heater switch on models up to the end of 1985

Removing the three-stage heater switch on 1986 and later models
2 – switch; 3 – spring clamps (compress towards the switch axis); 4 – connector
1. Remove the ground wire from the battery.
2. Remove the upper and lower steering column trim.
3. For vehicles manufactured before December 1985, remove the 2 screws (indicated by arrows) securing the switch, remove the connector and remove the switch.
4. For vehicles manufactured since 1986, remove the steering wheel, unscrew the 2 screws (indicated by arrows) securing the switch, remove the connectors and remove the switch.
5. The switch is removed from the instrument panel by pressing it with a thin screwdriver.

6. Removal of the contact group (1) of the ignition switch (2) is carried out after pressing two pins (indicated by arrows).
