Removing and installing the side door (Escort 4)

The side doors of cars manufactured before September 1986 and later models have minor differences.



1. Open the door as far as possible and unscrew the door opening limiter.

2. Remove the threshold trim and lower side panel mounting clips.

3. Remove the air supply duct from the heater.

4. Unscrew the bolts securing the lower door hinge to the body.

5. Unscrew the bolts securing the upper door hinge to the body and remove the door.
