The XR3 model cars have long-range headlights with H 3-55 W lamps of the Hella brand, catalog number 1 F 4 003 550-105 or the Carello brand. These headlights are switched on by a separate relay simultaneously with the high-beam filaments of the lamps installed in the headlights.
Hella brand fog lights, catalog number 1 NH 003 690-105, are installed on some cars. These lights are switched on via a special relay.
The front lights are intended only for indicating turns. The rear lights are intended for indicating turns, parking lights and brake lights (two-filament lamp), reversing lights and rear fog lights. The death sign is illuminated by two lamps located in the rear bumper.
Interior lighting is provided by a lamp located near the rearview mirror. The switch has two positions: constant lamp on and lamp on when one of the doors is opened. Some cars have a rear lamp that is switched on in the same way as the front one.
The instrument cluster is illuminated by four lamps, the brightness of which is regulated by a variable resistor on some vehicles. The analog clock, cigarette lighter, heater control knobs and all instrument panel switches each have their own backlight. The glove compartment lighting lamp is switched on when it is opened and is powered by the lighting network.
The operation of lighting devices and light signaling is controlled by two steering column switches: a small switch on the right side of the steering column - the first position up - turns on the parking light, the second - turns on the headlights; switch on the left side of the steering column - switching between low and high beam by moving it perpendicular to the steering wheel: towards the instrument panel - low beam is turned on, towards the steering wheel - high beam. The turn signals are turned on by moving the left switch parallel to the steering wheel. The light signaling is turned on by moving the left switch up; sound signal - by pressing the button at the end of the left switch.
The sound signal is provided by one or two electromagnetic sound signals. On the XR3 model, the long-range headlights are switched on simultaneously with the high beam. The direction indicators are switched on via a Hella relay, catalog number 4 DB 002 895-021, installed in the mounting block. When the direction indicator is switched on, the front, rear and side direction indicators flash, and the indicator lamp on the instrument panel also flashes. After the turn is completed, the switch automatically returns to its original position. To switch on the direction indicators in the hazard warning mode, there is a switch with an indicator lamp on the steering column below the steering wheel.
