Place the rear of the vehicle on stands and remove the wheel from the desired side. Remove the drum and brake shield. Jack up the suspension arm. Tighten the nut and remove the bolt 5 (fig. 4.10) lower arm fastenings. Remove bolts 7 fastening the shock absorber bracket. Mark the position of washers 9 and bushings 6 on tension rod 8 and remove journal 4 from tension rod.
Install the trunnion in the following order: install the bolts securing the trunnion to the shock absorber and suspension arm, then attach the brace to the trunnion, installing the washers and bushings in the position they occupied before removal.
Install the brake shield and drum. Install the wheel and lower the car. Tighten the nuts of the suspension arm and shock absorber bolts.
