Checking the air conditioning system

Warning: The air conditioning system is under high pressure.

Checks and maintenance must be performed regularly to ensure that the air conditioner continues to operate at peak efficiency:

• a) The auxiliary drive belt must be in good condition and properly tensioned.
• b) Check system hoses.
• c) Inspect the condenser fins for leaves, insects and other dirt. Use compressed air to clean the condenser.
• d) Check that the drain pipe on the front of the evaporator is clean. It is necessary to use the system for a period of approximately 30 minutes, at least once a month, especially in winter.

Due to the complexity of the air conditioning system and special equipment,. necessary to service the system at a service station.

The most common cause of poor cooling is low fluid levels in the system.
