Rear door wiper (Escort 5)

Removal

Turn the wiper on and off when it reaches its original position.

Please note: The windshield wiper motor only operates when the rear door is closed.

Remove the ground cable from the battery. Remove the windshield wiper arm. Remove the wiper arm shaft bushing retaining nut. Remove the 8 plastic screws (early models) or 10 screws (later models) and remove the trim from the inside of the rear door.

Disconnect the ground bus and electrical connector from the windshield wiper motor. Unscrew the bolts and remove the windshield wiper from the inside of the rear door (see Fig. 12.67, 12.68).





If necessary, unscrew the 3 bolts and remove the wiper motor from the bracket.

Installation

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
