Withdrawal


Raise the rear of the car and secure it on stands. Position a jack under the rear axle and raise it just enough to support the weight of the rear axle. Remove the lower bolt securing the rear shock absorber to the rear axle. Unscrew nuts from U-brackets of fastening of a spring to a back axis remove a plate of fastening of a spring and an emphasis. Unscrew the nut and remove the rear leaf spring mounting bolt (see fig. 10.36).



Unscrew the nut and remove the bolt securing the front of the leaf spring. Lower the rear axle and remove the leaf springs from under the vehicle.

Examination


Check the condition of the leaf springs for wear, deformation and cracks. Check the condition of the leaf spring bushings. If they are worn, they must be pressed out and new ones installed using a press.

If the spring earring is worn, it can be replaced separately from the spring.

Installation


Place the spring in the installation position. Reinstall the front spring mounting bolt and tighten the nut by hand.

Install the rear spring mounting bolt in place and tighten the mounting nut by hand.

Install the plate and stop on the top of the spring axle, then the U-brackets and secure them with nuts.

Connect the shock absorber to the rear axle. Tighten bolts and nuts to the required torque.

Install the wheel and lower the car.
