Before replacing a blown fuse, it is necessary to eliminate the cause of its burning by checking the circuits it protects according to Table 7.1.
In addition to being marked on the cover of the fuse box with the same symbols as on the instrument panel, the fuses are distinguished by color: red - 10 A, blue - 15 A, yellow - 20 A, white - 25 A; the rated current is indicated on the fuse itself.

Electrical equipment connection diagrams
The electrical equipment diagrams have a single numbering for all models of the Escort car and a slightly different numbering for the electrical equipment diagrams of the Orion car. The first block of nine diagrams refers to Escort cars manufactured in 1980-1982, the next block of eight diagrams refers to Escort cars manufactured in 1983-1985, and the third block of ten diagrams refers to the Orion car.
In all diagrams, the color of the wires is indicated by letters, where the first letter is the color of the wire itself, and the second is the color of the stripe on the wire.

The ground connection points are marked with the letter "t" and a number indicating the connection location: 1 - left windshield pillar; 2 - point of the body near the left headlight; 3 - point of the body near the right headlight; 4 - point of the body near the rear left light; 5 - point of the body near the rear right light; 6 — Windscreen wiper motor bracket; 7 - front part of the roof; 8 - left rear pillar; 9 - rear part of the roof.
