Removal
1. With the parking brake applied, jack up the front of the vehicle and support it on jack stands.
2. Release the clips and remove the lower engine soundproofing cover, which consists of two parts,
3. Disconnect the switch wires, then unscrew the switch from the transmission (see Figure 7.3).

4. Remove the sealing ring from the switch - it must be replaced with a new one.
Installation and adjustment
5. Position the new O-ring, then screw the switch into the transmission. The switch will automatically adjust itself correctly upon installation.
6. Connect the wires to the key, install the lower engine sound deadening cover and lower the car to the ground.
7. Check that the engine starts only when the lever is in the "P" or "N" position, and that the reversing light comes on only when the lever is in the "R" position.
