SEQUENCE OF WORKS
1. Voltage is applied to the primary winding of the ignition coil at contact "15"/"+". Voltage is applied via the primary winding from contact "4" to the power module in the control unit. Ignition voltage (approximately 30,000 V/30 kV) is applied via high-voltage wires from the ignition coil to the ignition distributor and is "distributed" there to the spark plugs of the corresponding cylinders.
2. To measure the voltage, connect the measuring device between the "15"/"+" terminal and the "ground" terminal. The voltage supply from the battery is correct if there is a constant voltage of at least 11.5 V. If the measured voltage is lower or absent altogether, the following reasons are possible:
- break in control wire to ignition switch;
- the ignition switch is faulty (usually in this case the starter does not work either);
- open circuit between the ignition switch and the universal electrical connector.
