Engine (turbocharged) and gearbox — removal and installation (Transit 2)

Attention: Please read the entire section, including the message at the beginning section 3 before you begin removing the engine. This section describes how to remove the engine and gearbox through the engine compartment and then separate them.

Removal

1. Contact section 4 and perform the work described in paragraphs 1 through 18 inclusive.

2. Disconnect the wiring from the starter, noting the positions of the cables.

3. Apply the parking brake, then raise the front of the vehicle and support it on jack stands.

4. Contact section 6, and perform the work described in paragraphs 4 through 16 and 28 through 32.

5. After removing the engine together with the gearbox, perform the separation and reconnection in accordance with the points of the paragraphs section 6.

Installation

6. Contact section 6, paragraphs 42 through 55, ignoring any references to models with automatic transmission.
