Front Lower Control Arm Bushing (IFS Models) — replacement (Transit 2)

1. Remove the front suspension lower arm as described in previous Section.

2. If the lever bushing is worn or bent, it can be removed from the lower lever eye using a simple puller consisting of a piece of metal pipe with a diameter slightly smaller than the inner diameter of the lever eye and a long bolt with washers and a nut. Another way to remove the bushing is to squeeze it out (if you have a press at hand) with a rod or a piece of metal pipe of suitable diameter.

3. If the suspension arm is damaged or has lost its shape, it should be replaced with a new one.

4. To facilitate installation of the new bushing into the control arm eye, lubricate the bushing and eye with engine oil, then push or pull (as you wish) the sleeve into the lever so that the projections on the sleeve fit correctly.

5. Remove excess oil from the bushing, install the lower arm in place as described in previous Section.
