Removing the brake booster (Fiesta 4)

Before removing the master cylinder, make sure there is no vacuum in the brake booster. To do this, remove the vacuum hose from the brake booster or press the brake pedal several times with the engine off.



SEQUENCE OF WORKS

1. Remove the master cylinder (the brake fluid reservoir remains on the master cylinder).

2. Carefully remove the vacuum hose from the brake booster.

3. Remove the fuel line support fasteners.

4. Hang up the fuel lines.

5. Unscrew the fuel line fastening nuts.

6. Remove the fastening of the exhaust gas composition control system units.

7. Disconnect the three contact connectors.

8. Loosen the support mounting bolt.

9. Remove the wire from the support.

Fiesta vehicles with ABS:disconnect the contact connector from the main brake unit.

10. Loosen the brake booster mounting nuts.

11. Remove the brake booster.

12. Pull the brake booster forward.

13. Loosen the bolt and remove the clamp from the brake booster.

Installation

The brake booster is installed in the reverse order of removal.

Remove air from the hydraulic brake system.
