Remove the intake noise muffler and the speedometer drive. Unscrew the nut securing the speedometer cable to the gearbox.
Disconnect the cable from the bracket (Fig. 3.51).
Insert the cable completely into the sheath.
Unscrew the casing bracket from the automatic transmission housing. After that, disconnect the lever from the cable (Fig. 3.52).
Remove the cable.
The cable is installed in the reverse order.
The cable is adjusted in the following way.
Insert the cable by hand into its frame in the body. The cable should be inserted to the end of its length.
Install tool 23-019 (Fig. 3.53).
Turn the cam until the fixture locks.
Turn the cam until the flap starts to move.
In this position, the gap between the engine idle speed adjustment stop and the cam placed on the bracket should be 1-2 mm (Fig. 3.54).
Insert the red bar to release the automatic adjustment devices. The cable will be completely relieved of tension and a light knock will be heard (Fig. 3.55).
Turn the cam on the cable bracket until the 23-019 tool can no longer be inserted into the hole provided for it or the throttle cable makes further movement impossible.
Remove the fixture and allow the jaws to settle freely.
The automatic adjustment device moves with an audible knock by no less than 2 teeth and no more than 13 teeth (Fig. 3.55).
