Remove the cam cable fastener. Unscrew the nut (B, Fig. 3.38) and hang the cable.
Remove the coolant hose from the hook located on the accelerator pedal cable bracket.
Disconnect the accelerator pedal cable brackets from the engine and gearbox (Fig. 3.39).
Disconnect the speedometer drive cable from the gearbox.
Attach the 21-060 hook to the engine and lift the engine slightly (Fig. 3.40).
Raise the car.
Drain the oil from the gearbox.
Disconnect the control cable from the gearbox (Fig. 3 41).
Remove the starter.
Remove the flywheel cover from the gearbox.
Disconnect all electrical connections from the transmission.
Disconnect both ball joints of the suspension column support on the wishbones.
Remove both axle shafts from the gearbox and hang them on wire hooks.
Unscrew the tube from the gearbox that connects it to the oil cooler (Fig. 3.42). All open holes must be closed immediately.
Close the holes from which the half-shafts were removed or insert the ends of the old half-shafts into them.
Unscrew the gearbox bracket from the body.
Lower the engine and gearbox as low as possible.
Support the gearbox from below with a jack (Fig. 3.43).
Remove the bolts on the gearbox flange.
Lower the jack and remove the transmission from under the car.
