Removing the automatic transmission

Disconnect the ground wire from the battery clamp.

Remove the trigger cam cable buckle. Unscrew the nut (B, fig. 3.38) and hang the wire.



Remove the coolant hose from the hook. placed on the gas pedal cable bracket.

Disconnect the gas pedal cable brackets from the engine and transmission (pic. 3.39).



Disconnect the speedometer drive cable from the transmission.

Attach hook 21-060 to the engine and lift the engine slightly (pic. 3.40).



Raise the vehicle.


Drain the gearbox oil.

Disconnect the control cable from the gearbox (pic. 3 41).



Remove the starter.

Remove the flywheel cover from the gearbox.

Disconnect all electrical connections to the transmission.

Separate both ball joints of the suspension column support on the transverse arms.

Remove both axle shafts from the gearbox and hang them on wire hooks.

Unscrew the tube connecting it to the oil cooler from the gearbox (pic. 3.42). All open openings must be closed immediately.



Close the holes from which the semi-axes are removed or insert the tips of the old semi-axes into them.

Unscrew the gearbox bracket from the body.

Lower the engine as low as possible along with the gearbox.


Support the gearbox from below with a jack (pic. 3.43).



Unscrew the bolts on the gearbox flange.

Lower the jack and remove the transmission from under the vehicle.
