Power Steering — bleeding (Transit 2)

1. If the power steering fluid has been drained, first add fluid to the correct level using the specified fluid type (see Chapter 1). Apply the parking brake. Then jack up the front of the car and support it on jack stands so that the front wheels are clear of the ground. Turn the steering wheel from lock to lock twice (the engine is off). After this, if necessary, add fluid to the reservoir to the correct level. Lower the car to the ground.

2. Start the engine and let it run at normal idle speed, then repeat the above procedure, again adding fluid to the reservoir to the required level.
