Removing the radiator (Fiesta 4)

SEQUENCE OF WORKS

1. Raise the front of the vehicle. Disconnect the negative battery cable (terminal "31") and the connector from the radiator fan motor. Remove the cable from the guides.

2. Remove the lower radiator grille.

3. Unscrew the lower plug, drain and collect the coolant. Loosen the clamps and remove the hoses from the radiator pipes.

4. In the version with STX, clean and unscrew the hoses from the oil radiator, then close the holes with plugs to prevent leakage of the working fluid.

5. Support the radiator with a jack, and do not forget about the intermediate gasket. Unscrew the bolts of the left and right radiator mounts (Fig. 6.11).



6. Use a jack to lower the radiator together with the fan.

7. Before installation, check the rubber tips on the radiator for damage and cracks. Lubricate the rubber parts with a thin layer of technical petroleum jelly.

8. Insert the radiator assembly into the engine compartment from below. Make sure that the upper mounting tabs of the radiator are correctly installed.

9. Tighten the radiator mounting bolts to 15 Nm.

Further installation of the radiator is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
