Driveshaft and rear axle — general information (Transit 2)

This chapter discusses the elements of the cardan transmission. For convenience, all these components are combined into two groups, namely the propeller shaft and the rear axle. The sections in this chapter provide general descriptions and verification procedures for each group. Since many of the procedures discussed in this chapter involve working underneath the vehicle, make sure the vehicle is securely supported on jack stands located on a firm, level surface.
