Front anti-roll bar (front dependent suspension) — removal and installation (Transit 2)

            0

Removal

1. After applying the parking brake, jack up the front of the vehicle and place it on supports installed under the chassis on both sides.

2. Unscrew the nuts securing the anti-roll bar link to the chassis.

3. Unscrew the fixing nuts and remove the mounting plates, insulating inserts and U-bolts. Disconnect the stabilizer bar and remove it from the vehicle.

4. Replace the insulating clamps with new ones, as well as any worn or damaged parts (see Figure 15.7).

Installation

5. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, but please note the following additional points:
  • a) When installing the rubber anti-roll bar pads, remember that they must be positioned at an equal distance from the curved edges of the anti-roll bar and that the distance between the inner edges of the inserts must be 620 mm;
  • b) Tighten the lock nuts to the specified torque.
