Seat belts — removal and installation (Transit 2)

Warning: On vehicles equipped with seat belts with automatic retractor buckles, use extreme caution when removing and installing the seats; the automatic retractor contains a powerful spring that could cause injury if the load cell is accidentally activated. The tensioning mechanism must first be "disarmed" with a special clamp called "transit clip" and can be purchased from a Ford dealer.

Rear seat belts - 1995 models onwards

21. Depending on the type and specification of the vehicle, different types of belts may be installed on the rear seats. The procedures for removing and installing the rear seat belts are essentially the same as those described above for the front seat belts, but in some cases it will be necessary to remove the appropriate interior trim panel to access the belt. Please contact Section 30, if necessary, to clarify the procedure for removing and installing interior trim panels. Ensure that all bolts are tightened to specification during installation.
