Valve clearances on a cold engine should be:
- for intake valves - 0.35 mm.
- for exhaust valves - 0.50 ±0.05 mm.
The camshaft is functionally connected to the crankshaft. For correct installation of the camshaft, a mark is made on its end, as well as installation marks on the crankshaft belt pulley and the engine body (Fig. 2.86).

The tension of the timing belt is adjusted by a spring tensioner with a roller.
