Checking the cruise control system (Taurus 1 and 2)

1. Due to the complexity of the cruise control system and the need for special tools and equipment, a description of this procedure is not included in this publication.

2. Unscrew the two locking screws and remove the horn cushion.

3. Check the cruise control switch and wiring for broken wires and open contacts (see illustration).



4. Lower the fuse box and check the cruise control fuse (section 4).

5. The cruise control system is vacuum operated, so check all hoses in the engine compartment for tight connections, cracks, obvious vacuum leaks (see pictures).
