Connect a tachometer of the appropriate type for the diesel engine.
Check the operation of the maximum engine speed limiter.
The engine must never run for more than 5 seconds at maximum speed (without load).
The maximum engine speed can only be adjusted in specialized BOSCH service workshops.
Once the maximum engine speed has been adjusted, you can proceed to adjust the idle speed. To do this, turn the adjusting bolt (Fig. 2.167 and 2.168) to obtain an idle speed of 800 ±40 rpm.
