Engine idle speed adjustment

Start the engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.

Connect a tachometer of the correct diesel engine type.

Check the operation of the maximum engine speed limiter.

The engine must never run for more than 5 seconds. with maximum speed (without load).

The maximum engine speed may only be adjusted by authorized BOSCH workshops.

After the maximum engine speed has been adjusted, you can begin to adjust the idle speed. To do this, turn the adjusting screw (pic. 2.167 and 2.168) so as to obtain an idle speed of 800±40 rpm.
