General information about manual transmission (Taurus 1 and 2)

All cars considered in this manual are equipped with either a 5-speed manual or automatic gearbox. The manual gearbox in these models is marked MTX - III.

This section of Chapter 7 covers all manual transmission data except for seal replacement, oil level checks, and suspension checks and replacements. Automatic transmission data is provided in Section B.

Due to the complexity of the gearbox unit, general information, procedures for removal and installation and replacement of seals are considered.
