Changing the oil in a manual transmission

1. Raise the car, place it securely on stands.

2. Install a drain pan under the gearbox.

3. Unscrew the drain plug in the box, then the filler plug; let the oil drain into the pan.

4. After the oil has drained completely, reinstall the drain plug and tighten it securely.

5. Install the fill plug. Using a hand pump or funnel, add the required amount of oil.

6. Check the oil level as instructed in section 22 chapter 1, add if necessary.
