Batteries require minimal maintenance. The liquid level should be approximately 10 mm above the top edge of the individual elements. Remove the plugs from the elements to fill them with distilled water.
Warning: Always observe the following precautions.
- First of all, disconnect the cable from the negative terminal (make sure the ignition is off).
- Be very careful to avoid touching both battery terminals at the same time with a metal tool or accidentally making contact between the positive terminal and the vehicle body. The resulting short circuit will cause sparking and could damage the battery and the car.
- When installing the battery, connect the cable first to the positive pole and then to the negative pole.
