Exhaust System Replacement

Resonator (V6 engine), catalytic converter (four-cylinder engine)


1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Raise the car, place it securely on stands. On four-cylinder models with air injection, disconnect the air tube from the catalytic converter.

3. Unscrew the two bolts on the flange which are located immediately behind the drive axle in the block with the gearbox (see picture).



4. Loosen the U-bolt (see picture), located immediately behind the resonator (V6) or catalytic converter (four-cylinder).



5. Remove the resonator tube/catalytic converter from the exhaust pipe and remove it.

6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order.

Exhaust pipe / muffler


7. Disconnect the negative battery cable.


8. Raise the car, install it on racks.

9. Loosen the nuts on the U-bolt located immediately behind the resonator on V6 models or behind the catalytic converter on four-cylinder engines (see figure 15.4).

10. Disconnect the exhaust pipe holder from the rubber suspension located on the left side of the car, just in front of the left rear wheel (see picture).



11. Disconnect the exhaust pipe holder from the rubber suspension located above and between the two left rear control arms (see picture).



12. Disconnect the exhaust pipe holder from the rubber suspension located directly above the muffler (see picture).



13. Remove the exhaust pipe.

14. Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
