Wheels and tires — general information (Taurus 1 and 2)

All vehicles covered in this manual are equipped with radial tires with steel or fiberglass cords; dimensions are in metric units (see illustration). Using tires of a different size or type may affect the ride or handling of the vehicle.

32.1. Metric tire size code.
1. Tire type:
R - passenger.
T - temporary.
C - commercial (cargo).
2. Width (in mm).
3. The ratio of dimensions (height) / (width) in %.
4. Type of construction:
R - radial.
B - diagonally encircling.
D - diagonal.
5. Disc diameter in inches.

Tire pressure affects tire wear and vehicle handling. Balance the wheel after installing the tire on the rim.
